What we store
- A guest account. The first time you play, the game creates an anonymous account: a random ID and a sign-in token for this device. No name or email.
- Your progress. The stars you've earned on each level, the level you're on, and which daily levels you solved. It is synced to our server so you can pick it up on another device after signing in.
- Daily levels. When you open a daily level, that you played it; when you solve it, when, how long it took, and the moves you made, which the server checks. Everyone's results are added up into the numbers shown after a daily, such as how many players solved it, the typical time and how many you beat. No one else sees your own result.
- If you sign in with Google or Apple: the account ID that Google or Apple gives us, your name, and your email address. With Apple you can choose to share a private relay address instead of your real one.
- Daily reminders, if you turn them on: your device's notification token, your time zone (so the reminder arrives around 9:00 your time) and whether you want reminders.
Your sound and color-pattern settings stay on your device and aren't sent to us.
What we use it for
To run the game: keeping your progress, letting you pick it up on another device, your daily streak, the daily numbers everyone sees and sending the reminder you asked for. We don't sell the data we store, and we don't give it to advertisers.
Where it lives
Accounts and progress are stored with Cloudflare, which hosts the game and its server. On the website, the game's fonts come from Google Fonts and the "Continue with Google" button is loaded from Google. Daily reminders are delivered through Apple's push notification service.
Deleting your data
When you're signed in, go to Profile and choose Delete account. Your account, sign-ins, progress, daily results and notification settings are deleted from our server right away, and the game clears its copy on your device. Without an account, clearing the site's data in your browser (or deleting the app) removes everything stored on your device; the guest account left on the server holds no name or email.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Features that collect more data will be described here before they launch.
